At Bleu Soleil, I create vibrant, soulful pieces inspired by music, my Cajun heritage, and the bold, expressive styles of vintage art from the 1940s to the 1990s. My work blends organic forms, layered symbolism, and nostalgic color palettes to tell visual stories that feel both personal and timeless. Whether through original illustrations or custom commissions, I design with the intention to evoke emotion, celebrate culture, and spark connection.
Hi y’all from Louisiana. My name is Clair, and I am a teacher and mom of 3. I began crocheting because I needed a hobby. Eventually, I realized that I could bring joy to others by selling my works of art. The joy and support from my customers inspire me to be creative, and crocheting is a lot of fun!
Dan Plummer is a Lake Charles, Louisiana resident and amateur photographer. Dan grew up in Ohio enjoying drawing, fishing, camping, fossil hunting, rock climbing, photography, and all things “science”. As a college student, he chose chemistry over art as his major field of study, later earned a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry and worked in the chemical industry until retiring in 2016. Since then, he’s rekindled his love for nature as an amateur naturalist and photographer and enjoys making pictures about the world around us.
Taylor Fillion is a menagerie of bluegrass guitar picking, folk storytelling, traditional country crooning, and good old fashioned soul. Based out of Lake Charles, Louisiana, residing in Ragley, his music weaves thought provoking lyrics with flavors of the Appalachian mountains and honkey tonk bars alike, and presents a sound unique in experience. Drawing inspiration from the likes of John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Sturgill Simpson, and Tyler Childers, he brings a collection of homegrown songs constructed by experience and imagination. Sure to make you laugh, cry, ponder, or tap your toes.
I’m a huge pop culture fan from movies to comics, trading card games to video games, and anime to cartoons. My biggest inspirations are WizardOfBarge, Tomio Ogata, Go Nagai, LAM, and pakosun.
Photographer capturing honest, emotional moments and the beauty of real life. From quiet portraits to powerful milestones, my goal is to create images that feel something. Associate degree in Media Production | Story-driven photography
An oil painter with a background in photography who is located in Lake Charles, LA with my husband Stacey and our dog Bandit. I enjoy traveling and spending time outside. My style of work is painterly realism, while I capture a subject’s likeness, there are visible brush strokes and expression in the final painting. Animals and florals are my main subjects, although I do occasionally paint people.
Becky Garrison is a Lake Charles–based artist inspired by the gentle rhythms of Southern life. She creates watercolor and acrylic paintings of Louisiana florals, coastal scenes, and everyday moments, capturing warmth, nostalgia, and the beauty of home.
I’m Christy Blalock, a professional artist from southwest Louisiana. I was labeled “artsy” and creative as a child, and art has always been my way of understanding the world. That passion started early, and I carried it forward to McNeese State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Art Education. Later, I completed a master’s degree in School Counseling. My career in Calcasieu Parish Schools spanned more than two decades — **16 years as an art teacher** and **seven years as a school counselor**. In both roles, I loved helping others find their creative voice and their sense of calm. After retiring from the school system, I stepped fully into my lifelong dream of becoming a full-time, professional artist. After walking through a difficult cancer journey, I chose to live differently — to fill my days only with what feels meaningful and true. Today, I create elegant, one-of-a-kind works by layering textures and plasters with my own custom blends of oils and acrylics. This approach produces a bas-relief effect that builds depth, movement, and a quiet, immersive atmosphere. Through a ten-layer process that is entirely my own, I continue to refine my technique to bring a unique sense of originality and richness to every piece. Meaning is at the heart of everything I create. I like to include a quiet “hidden message” in each painting — something from my soul. The best way for me to express myself with tact and feeling is through my art; it’s how I show what’s in my spirit that I believe the world needs to see. I believe art can heal, and everyone’s home should reflect something that adds joy to daily life. My inspiration comes from the world around me — I’m constantly looking up, looking for the birds. Birds in a nest, on a wire, in flight, or strutting their stuff feel like “Godwinks” to me, and I love sharing that special feeling through my work. I’m also inspired by the people around me — my family, friends, support system, and community.
A southern momma who uses art as a mental health tool. Teaching my children that using your hands is good for your mind. Art is not about the completion, it's about the process.
