Banners programs focus on lifelong learning and an appreciation of cultural diversity, working to enhance the quality of life in the communities of Southwest Louisiana.
Vocal musicians committed to providing access to professional vocal performances for the enrichment of the Southwest Louisiana community and beyond. BonaVox is a group of South Louisiana vocal musicians committed to offering high-quality music performance for the enrichment of Louisiana and beyond. BonaVox presents regular free concerts with a variety of genres of music in diverse areas in increase accessibility to high quality music. Repertoire includes a cappella music appropriate for mass, weddings, funerals, and general events.
The object and purpose for which this organization was formed are hereby declared to be for the preservation, enhancement, promotion, and appreciation of Cajun French music and culture. The purpose for which the Cajun French Music Association, Lake Charles Chapter, hereafter referred to as CFMA-LC, was organized is exclusively religious, charitable, literacy, and education within the meaning of Sec 501 (C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, or the corresponding provisions of any United States Internal Revenue Law.
Historic City Hall Arts and Cultural Center houses world-class art exhibitions and showcases SWLA culture.
Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center houses world-class exhibitions on national tour. Each touring exhibit is complemented with a variety of programming, including movie screenings, poetry readings, gallery talks, and live music events to enrich visitors’ experience. The center also exhibits works from local and regional artists. Three local galleries are housed within the walls of Historic City Hall; Artisans’ Gallery, Gallery by the Lake, and Black Heritage Gallery. From historic significance to brilliant artistry, the displays are truly inspirational. The original City Hall was built in 1903and destroyed by the Great Fire of 1910. The current building opened its doors in 1911 and served as a utility of city government for 90 years. In 2004, the City of Lake Charles refurbished and repurposed the building into an arts and cultural center. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and was designed by the notable architects Favrot and Livaudais of New Orleans. The design of the structure is Italiante, a classic design for civic buildings in the early years of the last century.
The Imperial Calcasieu Museum is a historical, cultural and fine arts museum serving the 5 parish area of Calcasieu, Cameron, Allen, Beauregard and Jeff Davis. Our mission is to inspire and empower artisans of the area through our facilities and organization with cultural connectivity and historic reflection.
The Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana supports arts and culture initiatives, events, and organizations in the 5-parish area that bring a unique cultural experience to local citizens while helping to bolster tourism and economic growth through the arts and humanities.
