Description
The Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana strengthens the five-parish creative sector by connecting creatives and organizations to resources and opportunity, while expanding access to the arts through education and community programs. We envision a Southwest Louisiana where creativity is a way of life. It is recognized, resourced, and rooted in our diverse communities. We aim to build a thriving arts ecosystem that honors our culture, inspires the next generation, and invites everyone to take part.

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES
Regional Showcase for National Conference: “The Water That Shapes Us”
The Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana is seeking an artist to create an original work representing our region for the upcoming National Association of County Officials national conference in New Orleans.
As the host state, Louisiana has the opportunity and responsibility to show up well. This piece will help tell the story of Southwest Louisiana through the lens of The Water That Shapes Us.
We are looking for a work that reflects the full region, with thoughtful consideration of the landscapes, communities, and identities across all participating parishes.
The selected artwork will be transformed into a large-scale, interactive paint-by-number installation, inviting conference attendees from across the country to help bring the piece to life.
