Spring Art Walk + Art Wars transforms the McNeese campus into a living gallery. Local artists, students, and performers come together for an afternoon of creativity featuring pop-up art displays, live performances, and the fast-paced Art Wars painting competition.
Established in 1987, the Lake Charles Chapter of the Cajun French Music Association of Louisiana is committed to preserving the Cajun French language and culture through the expression of Cajun French music and the preparation of authentic Cajun foods. Our annual festival, held on the third weekend of July at Burton Coliseum, marks its 40th year this year. As part of our language preservation efforts, a minimum of 70% of the performances at our festival must be in traditional Cajun French. The music presented serves to introduce attendees to this unique musical form or reinforce their love for it. All food served is freshly prepared at the event using Cajun recipes passed down through generations. The

Our members consist of a group of several dozen local artists, The gallery's programming consists of Saturday art classes and quarterly gallery exhibitions of members’ art in our gallery space in the Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center. We also sponsor an annual national juried exhibition of bird photography, "Hit Me with Your Best Shot!"
I’m Claire, a Louisiana-based artist working from my upstairs studio, where I create original paintings, resin pieces, illustrated goods, wood burned items, and other story-soaked handmade treasures. My work is inspired by color, myth, nature, gothic romance, fantasy, and the little moments that make life feel enchanted. Every item is made, selected, or finished by hand, so no two pieces are exactly alike. Whether you’re here for original art, handmade gifts, or just to support my creative work, I’m so glad you found your way here.

Kelci Lockhart is a Louisiana based artist and the creative behind Painted By Kelci. Her work is deeply inspired by Southern culture, nature, and everyday life, often blending realism with warmth, color, and storytelling. From detailed wildlife paintings to whimsical scenes featuring small animals and insects, her art reflects a fascination with the beauty and personality found in both the grand and the overlooked. Kelci has been passionate about art since high school and has grown her creative practice into a business, creating original works and custom pieces for collectors across the country. Her style is known for its vibrant tones, soft lighting, and emotional depth, often capturing quiet, meaningful moments that resonate with viewers.

Our mission is to advance education. At the Collective, we strive to create an accessible learning environment for homeschooling families, emphasizing holistic development through humanities-based classes. Our goal is to provide homeschool families with a supportive educational community. Our classes focus on the humanities and promote creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, and mindfulness. Students engage in artistic expression, explore new ideas, and share their talents while building connections through collaboration, shared projects, and thoughtful dialogue. Each activity offers opportunities for students to contribute to their classroom, the local community, and the wider world.
A multidisciplinary artist hailing from the NYC-metro, Emily Carroll has called Louisiana home since 2021. Raised in a family of artists, the creative life came naturally to her. She now finds herself on a pendulum of inspiration swinging between the sweeping landscapes encountered in her travels and the tiniest of details of everyday objects. Her work reflects this perspective. Her professional career has spanned the marketing, project management, and design fields.
Historic City Hall Arts and Cultural Center houses world-class art exhibitions and showcases SWLA culture.
Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center houses world-class exhibitions on national tour. Each touring exhibit is complemented with a variety of programming, including movie screenings, poetry readings, gallery talks, and live music events to enrich visitors’ experience. The center also exhibits works from local and regional artists. Three local galleries are housed within the walls of Historic City Hall; Artisans’ Gallery, Gallery by the Lake, and Black Heritage Gallery. From historic significance to brilliant artistry, the displays are truly inspirational. The original City Hall was built in 1903 and destroyed by the Great Fire of 1910. The current building opened its doors in 1911 and served as a utility of the city government for 90 years. In 2004, the City of Lake Charles refurbished and repurposed the building into an arts and cultural center. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and was designed by the notable architects Favrot and Livaudais of New Orleans. The design of the structure is Italianate, a classic design for civic buildings in the early years of the last century.
